MY RECOMMENDATION: MAYBE
AMAZON SUBSCRIPTION PAGE: As The Wood Turns
WEB ADDRESS: asthewoodturns.blogspot.com
BLOG DESCRIPTION: Adventures in Wood Working and Bowl Turning from a serious amateur wood worker.
MY REVIEW: There are two blogs on the web entitled As The Wood Turns. This one: http://pjturnerblog.blogspot.com/ has a few photos of nicely turned out pieces, but does not go into any details at all on how the work is done. So it’s one that, if you’re into woodworking, you should visit on the web to see the photos in full color.
The blog that is linked to the Kindle, As the World Turns, is http://asthewoodturns.blogspot.com/.
If you're a serious woodworker, you'll invest in a subscription. The posts are worth it, as is the times saving of not having to visit the blog periodically yourself to see if there's been an update.
I’d love to be able to give this blog an enthusiastic thumbs up, as the author gives very detailed information on all his projects, and I enjoyed all the entries. Any woodworker will enjoy this blog.
Unfortunately, you have to wait a loooong time between each post. In this case, it doesn't mean the blog is inactive. Prior posts averaged about one a month. So, that's a reason not to subscribe via Kindle. For the cost of a cup of coffee once a month, you can receive each post when its eventually made... once a month!
If you're just getting started in woodworking and want a lot of info all delivered to you, at least an entry a week, then of course this blog isn't for you.
Let this be a lesson to all bloggers – or at least those that expect people to pay money to have it delivered to them on a Kindle – you really should update your blog on a regular basis, at least once a week. Only people with a lot of discretionary money can afford to invest, even if its just $12, in a blog that updates only once a month.
