MY REVIEW: If you like womens' golf, this is the blog for you. All golf tournaments seem to be covered. (And since the season is winding down...not sure what will be the focus of the blog in the off season) But for now, go ahead and subscribe and check it out.

The news on tournament play isn't given in depth, most posts are three paragraphs long, about 250 words, but still, the highlights are hit. Check it out.

Thanks to Bill Jempty, I now know that the Acapulco LPGA Classic originally scheduled for Sept 30-Oct 3 is no longer listed on the Tour's schedule. A quick Google search finds no mention of its deletion. There are now only 24 official events listed for 2010 - seven of them remaining to be played - and the number of full-field events has been reduced to eleven (two left to play).

The original announcement for the Acapulco tournament (dated July 21, 2009) stated that the Tour had reached an agreement "in principle" to conduct the event for two years beginning in 2010. Evidently the particulars were never worked out completely. Larry Smich mentioned back in February that he was hearing rumors of trouble there. I have no information to back this up, but I can't help thinking that Lorena Ochoa's abrupt decision to retire in April might have had some sway here. The final decision to cancel was kept so quiet that even ESPN.com's LPGA schedule has not yet been updated to reflect it. Commissioner Whan might retain more of the respect he has earned in his first year had his administration been more open about this negative development. I hope they will be more forthcoming in the future.

MY REVIEW: There is a blog on the web called "How to improve your golf swing" but it hasn't been updated for over a year. New articles are received via Kindle subscribers to something with that name, but the entries seem to come as a feed from other sources. Some entries come from www.articlebase.com, others come from other sources. Therefore I can't give a web address for it.

Nevertheless the articles might be of interest to golf fans, so check it out with your free subscription option if you so desire.

MY REVIEW: This is a good blog, but it isn't suitable for Kindle. Each entry has a "read more" link, which you have to click, and after a few seconds, if your wifi is turned on, it brings you to the website to see the rest of the entry. I've always considered this very unweildly. YMMV.

I enjoyed this blog (although it hasn't been updated since May 14, and a gap that long when previously she'd been updating almost every day has me worried..) and I think the golfer and business person will, too. What better way to conduct business than over a relaxing round of golf?

Jerry Rice was disqualified today because his caddie used a rangefinder. http://budurl.com/sevq. I'm disappointed for him and am not surprised at his comments. He took ownership for the error, "a rookie mistake that I made." I'm glad he didn't blame it on his caddie or say his caddie should have known better.

It also sounds like he's no longer going to play on the Nationwide Tour. "Because I can't commit to golf the way I want to, this is probably my last Nationwide Tour event," Rice said. "These guys, they're working their butts off and they deserve to be out here."

I worked with his agent for three months to find time to do our interview. I knew where each of them were by following their Twitter posts. During that time, he was going to the Super Bowl, going to a DeBartolo wedding, getting inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, doing an event for Gillette, practicing for his first tournament, and I'm sure many other events that I didn't know about. I certainly understand why he doesn't have the time to commit to the game.

And he was well aware that he was taking another pro player's spot in the field. He wanted to do well because of it. As I said yesterday, I have no doubt if he had the time to commit to golf, he'd make the cut on the Nationwide Tour at some point. Remember that this is the guy that dropped so many balls in his rookie year and was seen crying in front of his bench after a game. He works hard and after speaking with him, I can see why he broke so many records on the NFL.

Jerry, I hope you finish this weekend and play as a celebrity.
