BLOG DESCRIPTION: The Female Entrepreneur is a bimonthly newsletter for business women published by The Female Entrepreneur Club (FEC) in Shanghai, China. Published on a two month rotation schedule, each issue will include interviews and profiles of female entrepreneurs, business tips, health and beauty tips, reviews, relationships, opinion pieces from FEC members and readers of the newsletter, along with articles on fitness, travel, food, and recreation. There will also be pieces specific to Shanghai, including culture tips, events, and updates on what's hot and what's not in Shanghai's business scene.

We welcome Female Entrepreneurs from all over to come and enjoy the newsletter, and to remember that the business world is not just for the boys.

MY REVIEW: I probably should hold off on a review of this blog...as it's brand new and I'm not really sure how it's going to play out. According to the description, this blog will be published only every two months. But, since the subscription cost is only 99 cents, so why not check it out.

MY REVIEW: I'm giving this blog a provisional "Yes." It's a new blog, only a couple of weeks old (although an adjunct to an established website) and a few of the entries have been very brief, and without a lot of info. But the blog is still finding its feet and, based on the author's other blogs, will be chock-full of information for the aspiring poet and prose writer.

The blog is updated every 2 to 3 days.

BLOG'S DESCRIPTION: A personal introduction to the New Atheism.

OUR REVIEW: One must be bright and opened minded to read this blog, less they be sucked into the dungeons of Hell.

Not really, but most Baptists would want you to feel this way!

Ignorance keeps most religions alive and well, which is a point made in this blog. Let me make myself perfectly clear here, I am not an atheist, nor am I taking sides, but I would like to think I am open minded enough to look both ways before I cross a street.

Whether you agree or not, this blog is thought provoking and well written. The author brings some issues to the table that others would rather not deal with. Even my Daddy, a died-in-the-wool Scottish Presbyterian, loved a good argument and always told me, if you didn’t listen to both sides, you’d never learn a thing.

Note that the blog is only updated once a week or so. Once again, I’ll get on my soap box and remind everyone if you want people to read your blog, you need to post frequently, more than once a week. This is especially true if you expect them to pay for a subscription.

BLOG'S DESCRIPTION: Get answers to the "What's for dinner?" question with these simple but healthy recipes from a group of cooking friends (real people with busy lives) who share what's cooking in their kitchens.

OUR REVIEW: An excellent recipe blog. No fuss, just a quick narrative and description, list of ingredients and straight forward directions.

Previous recipes include Spaghettis Squash Breakfast Loaf, Sausage, Pepper Rigatoni, How to Roast a Thanksgiving Turkey, Tomato Soup, Home made Ice Cream, and Chicken Risotto. If I had one, slight, concern it would be the number of squash recipes posted. Given that there is only one recipe a post, and unfortunately, there is only one maybe two, posts a week you want as much diversity as possible. But everything I saw looked wonderful.

They also reviewed a Pairing knife, a Lodge Logic Wonder Skillet, and Le Creuset cookware.

Angioamas Suck (brain disorder information)

BLOG DESCRIPTION: My name is Kelley, and I'm a mom (to Bob and Bob's Big Brother), wife (to Hubby), writer, and lackey to three cats. I like donuts just a little too much.

My oldest son, BBB, was (finally and correctly) diagnosed with Multiple Cavernous Vascular Malformations at the age of seven.

It sucks. The surgeries. The seizures. The unknown. But somewhere along the way, I made a decision--I wasn't going to let our lives suck because of it. If anything, I thought maybe, just maybe, we could even make the world a tad better because of it all.

This blog is part of how I'm trying to do that very thing.

MY REVIEW: The author of this blog said, "Most people have never heard of angiomas." And I'd never heard of it. There are two types of angiomas. The most common type is "a benign tumor derived from cells of the vascular or lymphatic vessel walls (epithelium) or derived from cells of the tissues surrounding these vessels. They usually appear at or near the surface of the skin ("strawberry birthmarks")

There is a second, more serious kind of angioma, and that is what the son of the author of this blog suffers from. "the angiomas I write about are actually the less common CCMs (Cavernous cerebral malformation or cavernous angiomas or yes, angiomas), clumps of blood vessels that occur in the brain and spine."

In this blog she shares her family's fight with this condition. "It sucks. The surgeries. The seizures. The unknown. But somewhere along the way, I made a decision--I wasn't going to let our lives suck because of it. If anything, I thought maybe, just maybe, we could even make the world a tad better because of it all."

But she doesn't dwell only on the angiomas, she's also a wife and a mom and talks about things that families do - like enjoy Halloween, and so on.

Handy-dandy FYI for today: Banging your head on a desk burns 150 calories an hr. So go nuts.

It's hard. Staying in touch with everyone. Whether it's a surgery, a medical crisis, or just regular status updates, it can be a huge challenge reaching out to all those you want to connect with. It seems no matter how hard I try, I never juggle it well.

Never.

But now there's a new way to stay connected--Caring Bridge. Through a website, phone and mobile apps, text messages, and even Facebook, you can reach out to everyone you wish.

Does it work? I don't know. I haven't used it yet. But I plan to, and I'll let you know how it goes. In the meantime I figured I'd share it with you all too. It seems like it just might be an incredible way to disperse updates and reach out.
